Steven Gerrard message and prediction ahead of Champions League finals

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has sent a message to the Reds ahead of the Champions League final against Real Madrid in Paris

The great irony of the Champions League clash of the titans as the Reds takes on Real Madrid in Paris on Saturday night, looking to win their seventh trophy in the competition.

This will be the third European Cup final Jurgen Klopp and his side have played in within the last five seasons.

Jurgen Klopp’s side saw off Villarreal to reach the final at the Stade de France.

Spanish giants Real Madrid beat Manchester City in their semi-final to set up a final against Liverpool.

It wasn’t about revenge when Mohamed Salah insisted weeks ago he wanted Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

It reflected the view of a fair few people within Liverpool, but also the top levels of European football.

It would have left Europe out and feeling shut with a third all-English final in four years.

Former Champions League winner Steven Gerrard has made the trip to Paris to watch his former club Liverpool take on Real Madrid in the final.

The former Reds captain sent a message in a video on social media to his old club.

“I’d like to wish everyone at Liverpool the best of luck,” said Gerrard, via the club’s Twitter account.

“I hope they get the outcome that everyone wants, I’m getting excited for the big game.“

“The fans are building up nicely outside the stadium, hopefully it will be a fantastic game.”

“I predict a 2-0 Liverpool win.”
