According to reports, one loyal fan of musician Nicki Minaj is suing her for $5 million.
The plaintiff, Tameer Peak, has filed a slander complaint against her in LA Superior Court, claiming $5 million in damages for ‘reputational harm, emotional distress, and financial loss.’
Tameer Peak, a long-time fan, claims that for 15 years, he was one of Nicki Minaj’s most ardent supporters. His commitment extended to supporting her projects, including her most recent album, Pink Friday 2. However, Peak claims that things changed in 2017 when the “Nicki hate train” started.
According to court filings, the tide turned, and Minaj allegedly began targeting her own fans, including Peak, whom she accused of harming her career. Additionally, Minaj’s activities have had a significant effect on his life, both personally and professionally.
Peak’s accusations go beyond mere verbal abuse. He claims that Minaj humiliated him on several occasions, including a disturbing incident where she invited him to her hotel room only to ridicule him publicly on Instagram. The emotional toll of these encounters, according to Peak, has been profound.

Another troubling incident that reportedly took place over the 2020 Super Bowl weekend is described in detail in the lawsuit. According to Tameer Peak, he was violently beaten by Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty. He asserts that this incident added to his continued suffering and monetary losses.
Peak claims that in 2023, he got threatening texts from individuals connected to Minaj. One of the texts purportedly asked Peak to “stop saying dumb s**t” about Minaj, raising concerns that he was harming her reputation among her fan base. It’s still unclear exactly what Peak was accused of saying.
Peak’s lawsuit also references a live broadcast on X (formerly Twitter), where Minaj allegedly took direct aim at him. In the broadcast, she reportedly referred to Peak as “not necessarily, you know, a full basket, umm at the picnic,” a phrase often used to imply mental instability.
She also labeled him a “stalker” and implied he was reliant on welfare assistance. These public statements, Peak claims, have severely damaged his reputation, leading him to seek $5 million in damages.
As of now, Nicki Minaj has not responded to the lawsuit filed by Tameer Peak. The case adds another chapter to the ongoing legal sagas surrounding the Trinidadian-born rapper and her family.
Nicki Minaj’s Legal History
This lawsuit adds to a growing list of legal troubles for Nicki Minaj and her husband. In March, Minaj and Petty were ordered to pay $500,000 to a security guard after Petty assaulted the man during a 2019 concert in Frankfurt, Germany. The security guard sustained a broken jaw as a result of the attack.
Petty’s criminal history is also well-documented. He was convicted of rape in 1994 and, upon his release, failed to register as a sex offender in California.
This led to a sentence of three years probation. Just last year, Petty faced further legal issues after making threatening remarks in a recorded video, which resulted in a judge sentencing him to up to 120 days of house arrest.
