It feels good to know we still have some good people out there who are not money-greedy and find no interest in taking over something belonging to someone and making it theirs in a greedy manner.

A young, and honest Ghanaian Taxi Driver who has been identified as Kwesi Ackon has gone viral and is still topping the trends of social media currently taking over from Abena Korkor after he decided to return the sum of GHS8,400 left in her car by a female passenger who is a fishmonger.

In this part of the world, and looking at the current state of Ghana’s economic state with many of the youths poised on finding ways and means of making money it would be very hard to have trust that a huge sum of money belonging to someone going missing could be found and returned, but yes, there are still some good people out there.

Kwesi Ackon, Taxi Driver Returns GH¢8,400

According to reports, Mr. Ackon who was driving at around 8pm on Easter Saturday, stopped at the Malata Market in Accra where he picked up the woman who said she was going to Teshie and both agreed on a GHS40 fare and the journey started from there.

Speaking with The Fourth Estate, Isaack Kwesi Ackon disclosed that after ending another day, he was checking through his car when he found a cloth tied over something. The cloth was dirty, like a rag. It smelled of fish. “I wanted to throw it away,”.

He then unwrapped it and found out that it was money which he did not even bother to count because he knew he had to return it to the rightful owner, which he knew was the woman who he picked at the Malata Market.

He couldn’t return the money on that day because it was almost dawn, so he waited and after Easter Sunday Church, [he attends the Curch of Pentecost] he drove straight to the residence to look for the woman and hand over the money which belonged to her.

Video Of The Moment He Returned The Money

On Wednesday morning, a video popped up and was fast going viral on social media which saw the moment the driver was filmed on tape as he returned the money to the owner.

From the view, the owner and her family burst into tears as they were very much disturbed and didn’t know what to do since they had no clue where the money might have fallen and didn’t believe it would even be returned.

They thanked the river very much and also as the woman could be seen hugging him as she weeps and saying they were not able to sleep is the cedi notes went missing.
