Taylor Lorenz, an American writer and columnist for The Washington Post, is now being investigated for her “war criminal” remark on President Biden.
The Washington Post is presently investigating her after she shared a photo on social media calling President Biden a “war criminal.”
The photo, apparently uploaded on Instagram, shows Lorenz taking a selfie at a White House “Creators’ Summit” with Biden in the backdrop. The comment, “War criminal,” was followed with a sad face emoji and was purportedly shared using Instagram’s “close friends” option, which restricted its exposure to a certain group. Instagram stories delete automatically after 24 hours.
It was verified that the worker is being investigated after a spokeswoman for The Washington Post claimed that they are aware of the purported post and are looking into it.
“Our executive editor and senior editors take alleged violations of our standards seriously. We’re aware of the alleged post and are looking into it.” Spokesperson said.
Taylor Lorenz, a well-known digital journalist, has refuted the charge, claiming the post was doctored and telling X, “You people will fall for any dumbass edit someone makes.”
This is not the first time Lorenz has been mired in controversy. She has previously been chastised for openly assaulting coworkers, reportedly doxxing LibsOfTikTok author Chaya Raichik, and publicly arguing with a Sopranos meme account on the coronavirus vaccine.
Lorenz stated in 2022 that she was suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result of internet persecution, and she has made news for her unorthodox opinions, such as calling air conditioning sexist.
