The streaming platform announced on Wednesday, December 4, that Swift garnered more than 26.6 billion streams worldwide, outpacing other musical heavyweights such as The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake, and Billie Eilish, who completed the top five list.

Swift, 34, expressed her gratitude in a heartfelt video message to her fans on Spotify. “Hi, I just wanted to say thank you so much for being one of my top listeners on Spotify; that’s so nice of you,” she shared.

Reflecting on her monumental year, she added, “I look back on this year and I think about how special you guys made it for us being on the Eras Tour. We went all over the world… Europe, Australia, Asia, back through America, and then to Canada. Thank you if you came to see the show; thank you for streaming the music. It’s just been such a wild ride, and I appreciate everything you guys have done, including listening to my music. So cool.”

To honor Swift’s accomplishment, Spotify added a special Wrapped badge to her profile and creative animations symbolizing her many eras. Highlights consisted of of seagulls on the Spotify Play Button for 1989 (Taylor’s Version), glitter for Fearless (Taylor’s Version), and floating papers for The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD).

Swift’s TTPD became the most-streamed album of the year, surpassing Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet, Karol G’s Mañana Será Bonito, and Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine.

However, Swift fell short of claiming the top-streamed song. That accolade went to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso,” which was followed by Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things,” Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” FloyyMenor and Cris Mj’s “Gata Only,” and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control.” Notably, Carpenter, 25, was also an opener for Swift’s iconic Eras Tour.
