Ten Hag said that he has not yet decided how the club will approach the game at Villa Park without Bruno Fernandes, who is sidelined due to suspension.

“It’s difficult to say at this moment.

“I have to talk with the medical [team], with performance. They did a programme in Manchester. I have to hear how their progress was and if they can be available for Sunday’s match.

“We also have to replace Bruno, that’s quite clear.

“We have to see how we replace him; we have to think about that.” Ten Hag said.

Bruno Fernandes has played every minute of this Premier League season so far, but he will miss this weekend’s games after receiving his fifth booking of the year in the team’s victory against West Ham United last week.
