In a sentencing on February 14, 2025, Dotson received an additional 159 years behind bars after being linked to the deaths of Divieon Parker, Renita Bennett, and Reginald Anderson.

Dotson, who had been arrested six days after the shooting, claimed to be a “serial killer” during his trial, comparing himself to the infamous Michael Myers.

He admitted to the killings, stating that Covson had known too much about his previous murders and was a threat to him.

The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office expressed relief at the sentence, affirming that justice had been served for the victims and their families.

Dotson’s conviction serves as a stark reminder that those who commit violent acts will face accountability for their crimes.
