Texas DoorDash Driver Stabbed Over 10 Times in Shocking by Man He Tried to Help

A Texas DoorDash driver is lucky to be alive after a violent carjacking that occurred outside a Waffle House in south Fort Worth on March 31.

Jackson Oltmanns, 28, had just finished delivering food when he encountered a man in the parking lot who asked for money. Instead of just turning him away, Oltmanns offered to buy the man some food.

As Oltmanns stepped out of his car to go inside, the man, later identified as 24-year-old Quindarius Cartwright, allegedly attacked him.

Oltmanns was stabbed at least ten times, with most of the wounds concentrated in his face and body. The man then attempted to steal Oltmanns’ car, a 2024 Toyota Camry, and fled the scene.

Despite the severity of his injuries, Oltmanns managed to walk into the Waffle House, covered in blood, and asked for help. “I genuinely thought I was going to die,” Oltmanns shared with local news outlets. “It was so much blood. I walked in, and they were freaking out.”

Fort Worth police quickly responded and found Oltmanns in the restaurant, where he was treated by medical personnel.

The authorities later arrested Cartwright, who had been attempting to flee the area. Oltmanns’ car was found damaged but recovered.

“I’ve been asked for money countless times, but I never imagined it would lead to something like this,” Oltmanns said in a GoFundMe post. “This is a painful lesson in being careful about who you help.”

Cartwright has been charged with aggravated robbery and is being held on a $150,000 bond. Oltmanns is recovering from his injuries, but the ordeal has left him shaken and cautious about helping strangers in the future.
