A 23-year-old Texas man, Alexander Taylor Valdez, is now in custody after allegedly confessing to killing his 58-year-old mother, Teresita Sayson, in what he claimed was an exorcism.
According to Fort Worth police, the case unraveled early Friday morning after they received an anonymous 911 call. The caller was part of a Snapchat group where a photo was shared, showing a woman lying motionless and covered in what looked like blood. The group member reported the image as “very concerning” and provided Valdez’s address to authorities.
Responding officers arrived at the residence located on the 9900 block of Farmers Branch Street. They were met by Valdez at the door. According to the arrest affidavit, he was visibly drenched in blood and holding a Bible. Without hesitation, he told officers, “It was an exorcism,” before sitting calmly on a porch chair.
When questioned about the blood, Valdez allegedly stated, “I was doing witchcraft to kill my mom.” Officers asked if anyone else was inside the home, and he replied chillingly, “There is a dead body in there, it’s my mom.”

Inside the house, officers discovered a horrific scene in the master bedroom. Teresita Sayson was found dead, lying in a pool of blood with visible trauma to her face and upper body. Authorities also found a deceased dog near the body and a shattered jewelry box covered in blood and hair, believed to be the murder weapon.
Several of Valdez’s friends were at the scene and spoke to law enforcement. They revealed they had received the disturbing photo in their group chat on Snapchat. The image clearly showed the lifeless body of Valdez’s mother, the dead dog, and bloodstains on the walls and carpet.
The suspect was immediately arrested and taken into custody. He reportedly refused to provide any further information to investigators and requested legal representation. He is currently being held in Tarrant County Jail with bail set at $750,000.
