Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President-elect thanks Ghanaians for believing in him and voting him to retain his position as the President of the Republic of ghana.
Ghana’s incumbent president, Akufo Addo after 72 hours of voting, voting held on December 7, 2020, was declared as the winner today, Wednesday, December 9, 2020, by the Electoral Commission chairperson, Jean Mensah who was under a lot of pressure for delaying the announcement of the verdict.
Nana Akufo-Addo of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) became victorious after beating John Dramani Mahama.
He managed to poll a total of 6,730, 413 which is 51.59%, while John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) polled 6, 214, 889 which gives him 47.36% of the total votes cast.
President Akufo-Addo took to his social media pages few minutes after the announcement to express his gratitude by thanking Ghanaians for voting him and the NPP back in power to accomplish what they started posting a photo of himself and his vice president Dr. Bawumia.
“Thank you Ghana for voting 4More! #ThankYouGhana” he wrote.
