The MP for Weija-Gbawe discloses the reason behind the former MCE’s passing

Tina Ayele Mensah, a Member of Parliament (MP) for Weija-Gbawe, has expressed her sadness at the untimely passing of Patrick Kumor, the former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

Madam Mensah believes that Mr. Kumor’s resignation from government in February 2024 was a poor decision, and she has linked his death to it.

According to the MP, it was because the dead backed her in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary for reelection.

“The only thing my late MCE did wrong was back me during the primaries, which is why I lost. He did nothing to get fired.

How can someone be fired who was ranked as the top MCE both nationally and regionally? His work as MCE brought him multiple honours. When she visited the grieving family to offer her condolences, she allegedly told Accra-based Onua TV/FM, “He was replaced without anybody consulting me.”

The congressman claimed that Mr. Kumor lacked the fortitude to process the information and recover from the shock.

“Patrick lacks my strength. I don’t mind if you fire me, but Patrick is not the same as me. Patrick’s blood pressure continued to rise as he couldn’t stop thinking about his sack. “Afei se asa” means “it is over,” and Patrick has left, she asserted
