Arsenal FC, and Ghana Black Stars midfielder, Thomas Partey has finally reacted to reports having it that he has switched his name from Thomas Partey to adopting a Muslim name ‘YAKUBU’.

The Arsenal Football Club star has been in the news for some time now for switching names from Thomas to Yakubu after switching between religions, converting from Christain to Muslim (Islam).

News of the 28-year-old footballer came to light some months ago back in March 2022 as a photo of him popped up on the internet which he also posted on his official Instagram page while holding the Quoran.

It would be recalled that in our previous post about the 28-year-old soccer player which can be read here, he was sighted in a short video with Ghanaian media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah.

In the video, he spoke about getting married to a Morrocan lady ‘Sara Bella’ which was the reason he had to switch to Islam and also changed his name to Yakubu from Thomas.

“I have a girl I love, I know my side chicks will leave me but it’s no problem. I grew up with Muslims so at the end of the day, it’s the same thing. I’m already married and my Muslim name is Yakubu.” Partey said in the interview.

Thomas Partey Not Changed Name To Yakubu?

The football star has finally reacted to the news that has gone rife about him changing his name to Yakubu after marrying his Morrocan partner.

From all we know, there is no iota of truth in the trending reports that he indeed switched his name,

Nana Aba Anamoah, the same Ghanaian journalist whom he was with while he said that has taken to her official Twitter account and made a post confirming it was all a joke.

She wrote; “Ah so people have truly taken the @Thomaspartey22 joke about his name change seriously? A man is not allowed to crack jokes anymore? What is that? Mtcheeeeeeew”.

After her post, Thomas Partey responded to her tween and wrote; “Eei chale I was enjoying it but now am back to Thomas again”.
