Tinubu Officially Declares Interest For The Seat Of The President Ahead Of 2023 Elections

The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu have officially declared his interest to become the President of Nigeria come 2023. The former lagos governor met with President Muhammadu Buhari about three days ago before publicly coming out to declare interests.

Also known as the “Jagakban of Lagos” the prominent politician has received the “go ahead” by the President to contest for the seat. Interestingly, this development happens to be surfacing just as the national convention of the APC will be taking place soon, on February.

Bola Tinubu met with the President after all APC governors across the country, called for meeting in preparation for their anticipated National Convention.

More so, Tinubu have a hefty task at hand as many prominent political players are also eyeing for the seat of power. Out of these rumoured players, Osinbjo happens to be the one with the largest support; especially from Business groups and religious leaders.

Reverend Waive is one of the many famous personalities pushing the Vice President to contest for the office of the President; also assuring him of the unwavering support from the Igbos.

As things stand Prof. Osinbajo have also been informed of the Tinibu’s interest; the VP was the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General when Tinubu was the governor of Lagos States.

Moreover, Tinubu and Osinbajo friendship coupled with the fact that the VP have promised not to contest against him is a pledged yet to be confirmed till further notice.

However, in the past few weeks, campaign banners and posters of the Vice President have been flying around Abuja. The Special Adviser to the VP, Mr. Laolu Akande, in reaction to the development of issued a statement stating that he is not aware of move and plots of the APC.

Furthermore, UNA, United Nigeria Ambassadors said that the Vice President Have their support and also urge him to pick the form and give it a go. The group also assured the VP of total support from the East given his commitment to the development of the country.

Nevertheless, Tinubu have a strong political base; having being one of the key political players responsible for the emergence of the Buhari as the president of the country; also playing a part in installing Osinbajo as the Vice President.
