Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has revealed that walking out of her marriage was the ‘best decision’ she has ever made.
This was made known in an instagram post by the actress where she shared a screenshot of message between herself and a female fan who sought for her advice on marriage.
Per the post, the fan first greeted the actress “Good morning,” and followed up with her question saying “ma please, ma. I have a question, how were u able to cope when u and ur ex-husband left u with your child …. If there is any advice am really ready to learn… I am a (nobody) aiming to be somebody soon.”
As someone who have been through some marital challenges herself, and from her own perspective, the Dikeh swiftly responded to the question the best way she could.
She first responded to the greetings “Good Morining,” and starting off by dsaying she was rather the one to walk away from her marriage, and not the other way round based on what she was going through.
She highlighted in her response, the importance of self-investment, and personal growth. She encouraged the woman to prioritize her well-being and that of her child while seeking guidance and strength from God.
The actress said, “First and foremost, I was the one who chose to walk away from my marriage, not the other way around. I needed to escape a difficult situation, not just for my own sake, but for my child as well. Best decision I ever made.”
“Remember, you have the power to become the person you aspire to be, as long as you commit to your growth and invest in yourself. Prioritise the well-being of your children while seeking guidance and strength from God. Sometimes the end of the road is the beginning of your blessings, but please, if your marriage is worth it, fight for your home. Take care.” She ended her respond.
In the caption of her post, she wrote this; “ Dear Single mothers, I don’t have a manual for these things. I am neither a pro in this movement. My biggest teacher has been love. I just let God do his thing, and his thing is enough for me. Draw strength from God, most especially keep your family matters private.”
Tonto Dikeh’s response to the woman got a lot of reactions from fans who took over her post to praise her for being very nice and handing the best of advice to the woman.
Tonto and her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, to whom he share a son with got seperated back in 2027, there were claims on infidelity and issues of domestic violence.
