The Trump administration has announced a major intelligence reward program targeting senior figures connected to Iran’s powerful military structure, offering up to $10 million for information on Iranian leaders linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The offer, issued through the U.S. State Department’s Rewards for Justice program, comes amid escalating geopolitical tensions following recent U.S. and Israeli military operations against Iranian strategic facilities.
Officials say the reward is intended to gather actionable intelligence on top leaders within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a powerful arm of Iran’s military that Washington accuses of supporting global terrorism and regional destabilization.
In a statement published with the announcement, the notice reads:
“The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), part of Iran’s official military, plays a central role in Iran’s use of terrorism as a key tool of Iranian statecraft.”
The reward announcement specifically identifies several influential figures connected to Iran’s leadership and security apparatus.
Among those listed is Mojtaba Khamenei, who recently assumed the position of Supreme Leader after the death of his father, Ali Khamenei earlier this month.
Also named in the notice are Ali Larijani, a senior political figure who currently serves as Iran’s national security chief, and Ali Asghar Hejazi, who previously served as chief of staff to the late Ayatollah.
According to the State Department, individuals who provide credible information leading to intelligence breakthroughs could also qualify for relocation assistance, a measure commonly used in high-risk international informant programs.
The reward announcement arrives amid heightened conflict between Washington and Tehran following a series of joint U.S. and Israeli strikes launched in Iran late last month.
Those attacks targeted several strategic Iranian assets, including missile systems and nuclear infrastructure. One of the reported targets was a compound associated with the late Ali Khamenei, according to officials familiar with the operation.
Regional tensions have sharply intensified since the strikes. Reports indicate that more than 2,000 people across the Middle East have been killed since the escalation began.
Speaking about the conflict on Friday, Donald Trump claimed Iran had suffered significant losses and suggested Tehran may now be looking for negotiations.
Posting on the social media platform Truth Social, the president wrote:
“The Fake News Media hates to report how well the United States Military has done against Iran, which is totally defeated and wants a deal – But not a deal that I would accept!”
Trump also highlighted the scale of a recent U.S. bombing campaign targeting Iranian military assets.
“The U.S. on Friday launched what the president referred to as “one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East, and totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island.”
Security analysts say offering financial rewards through the Rewards for Justice program is a strategy often used by U.S. intelligence agencies to gather insider information from individuals with access to sensitive networks.
The program has historically offered multi-million-dollar rewards for information related to terrorist organizations, high-ranking military officials, and international security threats.
With tensions still high and diplomatic channels uncertain, the latest reward announcement signals Washington’s continued effort to apply pressure on Iran’s leadership structure while seeking intelligence that could shape future military or diplomatic decisions.
