In a recent post on his social media platform, Truth Social, former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump declared his dislike for pop singer Taylor Swift. His post was made in response to Swift’s public endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 US presidential election.
Trump, 78, turned to social media on Sunday, September 15, posting, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” The remark came after Swift’s endorsement of Harris, which was revealed on Instagram just days ago.
Swift, 34, officially endorsed Harris, 59, in the presidential race on Instagram on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The move was done shortly after Harris and Trump wrapped their first debate.
“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” the singer began the caption of her post, which included a photo of herself holding a cat. “If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.”
Swift’s endorsement also included a strong statement against misinformation, citing a recent fake video of her endorsing Trump. “Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” Swift wrote.
Prior to today’s ‘I Hate Taylor Swfit’ post, Trump, who has 7.71 million followers on Truth Social, had earlier responded to Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris following the recent presidential debate.
The former president said on Fox News on Wednesday morning (September 11th) that Swift’s decision to back his opponent in the upcoming 2024 US general election could have an influence on her career.
Appearing on Fox New, Trump who wasn’t happy with Swift’s endorsement said that “I was not a Taylor Swift fan,” He claimed that Swift’s liberal views will have implications in the marketplace. “It was just a question of time. She couldn’t possibly endorse Biden… But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it.”
