On Friday, March 21, U.S. President Donald Trump made a historic announcement at the Oval Office, revealing the creation of the United States’ most advanced and lethal aircraft.
The president confirmed that the U.S. Air Force is moving forward with the development of the “world’s first sixth-generation fighter jet,” a project being led by aerospace giant Boeing.
Trump went beyond the technical announcement, naming the groundbreaking aircraft the F-47, with the number 47 signifying his position as the 47th president of the United States.
Speaking alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Trump declared, “Nothing in the world comes even close to it.” He further described the F-47 as “the most advanced, most capable, most lethal aircraft ever built,” claiming that it is “virtually unseeable” to enemies.
The president shared that an experimental version of the F-47 had been secretly in flight for nearly five years and far exceeds the capabilities of any other nation’s military technology.
He asserted that America’s adversaries “will never see it coming” and, if the aircraft is ever deployed, “they won’t know what the hell hit them.”

However, Trump refrained from revealing the aircraft’s cost, stating that disclosing the figure would give away too much about its scale and technological advancements.
While the F-47 will not be sold to foreign nations in its full version, Trump mentioned that some allied countries have shown interest in purchasing a toned-down version of the jet, suggesting that it may be adjusted “by about 10 percent.”
He hinted that, depending on future alliances, the aircraft could be further modified for international buyers.
Defense Secretary Hegseth echoed the president’s statements, affirming that the F-47 marks a significant milestone in U.S. military power.
“We’ve had the F-15, the F-16, the F-18, the F-22, the F-25, and now we have the F-47,” Hegseth said. “It sends a clear message to our allies that we’re not going anywhere, and to our enemies that we will be able to project power across the globe, unimpeded, for generations to come.”
