According to all indications, there will now be two distinct sorts of account verification: official verified accounts and paid types of verification.

There have recently been some disputes over how things are run at Twitter, which billionaire Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, recently acquired for $44 billion.

Elon said that people who have verification on their accounts and still wish to keep them would now have a $8 monthly payment option, but warned that failing to do so could result in them losing their badges.

This sparked a number of discussions on the microblogging site, where users shared their opinions on the subject, with many bashing Elon.

As new information confirms and contradicts previous information, it appears that the majority of us did not fully comprehend what was about to take place.

When Twitter launches its new $8 service with the blue verification mark, Townflex understands that it will add a ‘Official’ label for some verified accounts, including major media outlets and governments, even though there will still be a $8 monthly verification badge for those who want to get verified.

As we speak, it is being worked on, and they are also figuring out how to distinguish between official verified accounts and monthly paid verification badges.

This was made known to the general public by product executive, Esther Crawford in a tweet on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

“A lot of folks have asked about how you’ll be able to distinguish between @TwitterBlue subscribers with blue checkmarks and accounts that are verified as official, which is why we’re introducing the “Official” label to select accounts when we launch.

“Not all previously verified accounts will get the “Official” label and the label is not available for purchase. Accounts that will receive it include government accounts, commercial companies, business partners, major media outlets, publishers and some public figures,” Crawford tweeted.

“The new Twitter Blue does not include ID verification – it’s an opt-in, paid subscription that offers a blue checkmark and access to select features. We’ll continue to experiment with ways to differentiate between account types.”
