Starting from today, Tuesday, October 5 to Sunday, December 5, 2021, some parts of Accra, the capital of Ghana are expected to experience power outages.
In a letter by the The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) sighted online by Townflex, this to enable them execute “planned works” within the Achimota – Mallam corridors.
Prior to phase two which starts today October 5, Phase one of the power outages to fix issues started from July 28th, and ended on September, 28th.

According to GRIDCo’s letter, the outages to the above mention lines (Accra-Mallam Coridors) is to enable the decommissioning and replacement of the existing lines to the new conductors with higher capacity within the coridor.
The areas that will be affected have been segmented into three groups A, B, and C.
Group A comprises, Adabraka Old Timers, Mamprobi, Chorkor, Ageege, Lartebiokorshie, Valco Trust, Teachers Hall, among others.
In Group B are Appolo Theatre, Asylum Down, Adabraka Market, Korle Gonno, Sukura, Mamprobi Poly Clinic, James Town, Mataheko etc.
Group C also includes Central Police Station, Cocobod, Kingsway, Abossey Okai, Chorkor, Appiah Danquah, Graphic Press House, SSNIT among others.
