American R&B singer, Victoria Monét has announced the cancellation of her upcoming performances due to health concerns.
On Monday, May 21, Monét informed her fans through an Instagram story that she would not be able to perform at the Governors Ball in New York City, the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia, or Blavity in Nashville this June.
The “On My Mama” singer, 35, though not disclosing the specifics of her illness, revealed that she has been dealing with some health issues for some time now but she now feels it is crucial to address these issues publicly and take necessary action.
Despite having tried to manage these health problems privately, Monét emphasized the importance of prioritizing her well-being now. However, she reassured her fans of her return to the stage soon.
“I am gutted to share that I will no longer be able to perform,” Monét’s statement reads, adding: “I am so sorry!!”
She continues: “Candidly I have been dealing with some ongoing health issues that have to be addressed right now, but I will be back out there soon, that’s a promise! Please know it wasn’t an easy call but it’s definitely for the best.”
The thrice-crowned Grammy laureate is set to grace the remaining lineup of her summer music festival engagements, including the Broccoli City Festival in Washington, D.C. (July 27), Lollapalooza in Chicago (August 1), and the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco (August 9).
Monét, whose recent appearance at Coachella in April garnered much acclaim, basked in the honor of receiving an exquisite floral arrangement from Beyoncé herself, a gesture symbolizing her profound respect and admiration.
