Wingstop Manager Throws Hot Grease on Customer After Being Called ‘Broke’: Watch Video

On recently released security footage, Carnael Irene, a manager in Port St. Lucie, Florida, is seen assaulting a group of “loud and disruptive” customers last month while brandishing a bottle of Wingstop’s signature ranch and a pot of hot grease.

According to police, Irene doused one of the customers with the condiment and “hot oil” while they were arguing.

The victim, who was described by cops as a minor, said she suffered burns in the grease attack and was photographed by police with injuries to her legs and feet, according to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, which released security video via Storyful of the incident on Wednesday, local Fox affiliate WTVT reports.

Irene’s arrest report, first obtained by The Smoking Gun, outlines how she allegedly attacked the underage victim and others who were with her on Jan. 28 at around 11 p.m., cops say.

“Irene stated that the customers were on the opposite side of the counter and were being loud and disruptive,” the report alleges. “Carnael said that she became upset due to the disruptive customers stating that she was broke.”

Security cameras captured Irene and the others going back and forth before she allegedly pulls out the Wingstop ranch and grease.

Irene claimed the oil “did not make contact with them and only hit the floor since she was held back,” per the report. But she did admit to throwing it, according to cops.

Police were called to the Wingstop and Irene was arrested “based on the oil on [the victim] and the claims of it burning when it hit them, the shiny burnt skin on [the victim] … security footage and [Irene’s] own admission.”

Irene was charged with aggravated child abuse and aggravated battery for the incident. Attempts by Law&Crime to reach Wingstop for comment on Thursday were unsuccessful. It’s unclear whether Irene is still employed.
