Authorities in Wisconsin have charged a 41-year-old woman with first-degree intentional homicide following the death of a 14-year-old discovered during a welfare check in Beloit.
Deputies with the Rock County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence shortly before 8 a.m. on Friday after concerns were raised about the well-being of someone inside the home. Upon arrival, officers found the teenage victim deceased, prompting an immediate investigation.
Law enforcement officials later identified Tyiece L. Oninski as the primary suspect in the case. She was taken into custody and formally charged with first-degree intentional homicide, one of the most serious criminal charges under Wisconsin law.
At this stage, authorities have not disclosed key details surrounding the case. Investigators have yet to clarify the relationship, if any, between Oninski and the victim, nor have they revealed who initially requested the welfare check that led deputies to the scene.
Public records reviewed by the Beloit Daily News indicate that Oninski has had prior encounters with law enforcement in recent years. These include allegations involving battery, disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer, domestic abuse, and bail jumping.
Officials say the investigation remains active, and additional information may be released as the case develops.
