Her sister argued that with a cousin named Leanna and her own children named Lee and possibly Anna, the names would sound too similar and clash.

In an emotional post on Reddit, the woman expressed her surprise at the situation, as she was unaware that her sister had planned similar honor names for future children.

Despite the concerns, the woman feels strongly that she has every right to choose the name Leanna, pointing out that her sister isn’t currently expecting another child.

She also emphasized that both women were close to their stepmother, and it shouldn’t be up to one person to monopolize the honor of naming children after her.

The woman shared that her sister’s frustration has led to passive-aggressive behavior, including a comment about “stealing” the name, which she found hurtful.

However, the poster remains firm in her decision, stating that naming her daughter Leanna is her way of honoring a beloved family member.

Reddit users overwhelmingly supported the woman, with many arguing that names aren’t “owned” and that both sisters should be free to choose how they honor their stepmother.
