In a daring attempt to spend her birthday in peace and quiet, Victoria Unikel, a Florida-based businesswoman, hired out an entire luxury resort in the Florida Keys for $20,000. Her goal? To escape the “riffraff” and noisy children commonly found in hotels.

“It was very peaceful because there was no one around,” Unikel said of her extravagant yet serene getaway. The one-night stay at the plush property, which occurred mid-week during Florida’s winter season, turned the resort into a private oasis for the entrepreneur and her husband, Gene Avakyan.

The 47-year-old ex-model, actress, and co-founder of VUGA Media Group described the experience as a dream come true.

“By booking out the whole hotel, it got rid of the general riffraff that is normally in hotels, which I don’t like,” Unikel explained. “It allowed me to avoid noisy kids and the hustle and bustle.”

During their exclusive stay, the couple enjoyed the resort’s pristine beach, pool, and restaurant in absolute privacy. The experience was similar to living in a scenario from The Shining, minus the scary overtones.

Unikel also took the opportunity to meditate, one of her favorite activities. “I meditated on a deckchair at the beach,” she shared. “Meditation not only calms me down but also allows me to manifest future events, and it works.”

Unikel’s lifestyle reflects her status as a powerhouse in the media and fashion industries. She co-founded VUGA Media Group with her husband and has expanded her portfolio to include children’s literature. Her debut book, Emma + Luke = Disappear To Nowhere, was published last November.

With her businesses reportedly valued at $17 million, Unikel is always on the move. “I am not 100 percent satisfied. I want more,” she said, adding that she doesn’t believe in retirement.

Unikel’s $20,000 expenditure may appear expensive, but the billionaire saw it as a necessary expense. She stated that the price was reduced owing to the season and timing, the unique experience was a suitable tribute to her accomplishments and a much-needed vacation from her hectic schedule.

“I don’t understand the concept of retirement and don’t want to retire,” she said. For Unikel, life is about constantly striving for more—whether in business or personal experiences.
