A 32-year-old South African woman, Shimoné Fluks, was tragically stabbed to death by her boyfriend in a violent attack on December 14, 2024, in the small town of Bersig, Montagu.

The details of the incident were revealed by the advocacy group Women For Change in a statement on Monday, December 30.
According to their report, Shimoné was severely injured when her boyfriend allegedly attacked her with a knife.
She managed to escape to a neighbor’s house for help, but tragically collapsed from the deep stab wounds she sustained to her neck.
Emergency responders who arrived on the scene were unable to save her life, and she was declared dead shortly after.
The boyfriend, also 32 years old, fled the scene after the attack but was apprehended by authorities the following day.
This tragic event is said to be part of a pattern of abusive behavior by the suspect, who reportedly had a history of violence.
