Former WWE star Tammy “Sunny” Sytch has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for a fatal car crash in 2022 that claimed the life of 75-year-old Julian LaFrancis Lasseter.

In August, Sytch pleaded no contest to charges stemming from the March 2022 crash, as reported by the NY Post.

During the hearing on Monday, November 27, Sytch addressed the courtroom and broke down in tears while apologizing for her actions.

“Every second of every day, and I will do whatever I can to make the changes I need to make sure this never happens again.”

The WWE legend, known by the ring name Sunny, faced the possibility of up to 26 years behind bars for the crash.

She was charged with DUI causing death, causing death while operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, four counts of DUI causing injury to a person, and three counts of DUI causing property damage.

The fatal crash occurred when Sytch collided with Lasseter’s car, which was stopped at a red light in the 100 block of North Yonge Street in Ormond Beach.

Lasseter’s car was pushed into another vehicle, and he succumbed to his injuries.

Whitney Lasseter Hill, Lasseter’s daughter, expressed the profound impact of the loss: “It changed everything to find out that my dad, our rock, was no longer with us.

He was my world. He was the most positive person. He loved life. And he was a man of God. He was my biggest cheerleader.”

Sytch’s troubled history included at least six previous arrests related to DWI charges, and earlier in the year, she faced accusations of threatening to kill her partner with a pair of scissors.
