Prosecutors have filed more charges against Young Thug, who is awaiting trial in his RICO case.

According to reports, the Atlanta District Attorney’s office charged the American rapper with street racing, reckless driving, and speeding.

The latest misdemeanor charges arise from an incident in early May in which the Atlanta rapper allegedly drove his vehicle at 120 mph on Interstate 85.

Thug who goes by his real and legal name Jeffrey Williams has been behind bars at the Cobb County jail since May 9.

Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel, maintains the rapper is innocent of all charges and is being treated unfairly by the system.

Prior to the newly added charges, back in May, Young Thug and 27 others (including Gunna) were detained on racketeering charges relating to Young Slime Life, which prosecutors contend is a criminal street gang with ties to the Bloods.

The Punk rapper was charged with Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) conspiracy and involvement in a violent street gang. That explains why he has been imprisoned since his capture.

Williams has disputed all claims leveled against him. He’s also sought and failed several times to gain bond release since his arrest. His most recent attempt occurred in August, when a judge denied his request to be released on strict home arrest.

The trial of Young Thug is expected to begin on January 5, 2023.
