Zelenskyy: Ukraine cannot start counteroffensive because it lacks weapons

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in an interview with Japanese newspaper Yomiuri, as reported by Radio Liberty, stated that the planned spring counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot commence due to the insufficient weaponry available.

The President emphasized the importance of additional support in the form of weapons supplies, including ammunition and fighter jets, which is necessary for the defense forces.

Zelenskyy added that the Ukrainian military is awaiting these supplies from its partners.

He also noted that the Russian army fires shells at a rate three times higher than the Ukrainian military.

According to UK Intelligence, the desire of the Russian troops to stabilize the front line shows the return of the Russian Federation to a defensive operational plan after failed offensive attempts.

In other news, Austria vows to arrest Putin and bring him to Hague if he decides to visit.

Austria has confirmed that it will arrest and extradite Russian President Vladimir Putin to the International Criminal Court (ICC) if he visits the country. The confirmation came after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Putin on March 17 in connection with the ongoing situation in Ukraine.

Austria, as a signatory to the Rome Statute, is required to cooperate with the ICC and arrest warrants issued by the Court must be executed, and individuals wanted by the Court must be apprehended, including heads of state.

The Ministry of Justice in Austria also pointed out that in 2019, the ICC had already established that even heads of state did not have immunity before the Court, citing the case of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir. Continue Reading Here.
