The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards has announced its nominations, the nominees were announced by the organizers of the award scheme on Tuesday, August 8th,

Taylor Swift dominates the nominations for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, securing a remarkable eight nods. Her music video “Anti-Hero” alone gathers seven nominations, and she also earns a spot in the coveted artist of the year category.

In line with the official announcement, Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sam Smith each receive five nominations, showcasing their exceptional contributions.

Additionally, BLACKPINK, Diddy, and Shakira secure four nominations apiece, underlining their outstanding presence in the music industry.

2023 MTV VMA Date and Venue

The upcoming 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, slated for September 12th, and will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The event is poised to make history with an impressive roster of 35 artists who are first-time nominees this year.

Among these newcomers are Petras, Metro Boomin’, and Rema, each earning three nominations. Aespa, Burna Boy, Davido, Eslabon Armado, FIFTY FIFTY, PinkPantheress, Saucy Santana, Stephen Sanchez, and Toosii are also making their debut appearances on the nominee list.

Voting: Fan voting begins online Tuesday across 15 gender-neutral categories, including the new best Afrobeats category, and ends Friday, Sept. 1. However, voting in the best new artist category will remain active throughout the show.
