The nominees list for the upcoming 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) has finally been unveiled.

The 2025 TGMA nominees were officially announced by the organizers of the awards scheme on Saturday, March 15, at a ceremony held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

The nominees for the 26th TGMA Artiste of the Year category have already sparked a lot of talks in town as many express their disappointment in the board with the feeling that some acts who did not qualify for the category made the list.

The 2025 TGMA Artiste of the Year category will see competition between acts like Stonebwoy, King Promise, Black Sherif, Joe Mettle, with new faces like Kweku Smoke, King Paluta, and Team Eternity making the list.

The likes of Lali X Lola, Rap Fada, Arathejay, Team Eternity, Beeztrap KOTM, and Kwesi Amewuga will be competing to earn the Best New Artiste category award.

The King of African rap music himself, the Landlord, Sarkodie alongside Amerado, Kweku Smoke, Black Sherif, King Paluta, Beeztrap KOTM, as well as Medikal faces to battle for the Best Hiplife/Hiphop Artiste of the Year award.

Another Category a lot has their eyes on aside the coveted AOTY cat is the Most Popular Song of the Year category, and this cat will see competition between Olive The Boy’s ‘Asylum’, Paris from King Promise, Lomo Lomo from KiDi ft Black Sherif, Very Soon by Fameye, Stonebwoy’s Jejereje, King Paluta’s Aseda, Puul from Lasmid, Defe Defe by Team Eternity Ghana and Black Sherif’s January 9.

TGMA 2024 Date

The Telecel Ghana Music Awards 2025 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 3, to be hosted at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) in the capital of Ghana. Prior to the main event, a pre-party will take place on Friday, May 2, where nominees, industry stakeholders and music enthusiasts are expected to attend the event for networking, discussions, and celebrations.
