Some artists follow trends. Others follow vision. 4OR, real name Winning Elisha Onyibe, is firmly in the second group.
From his studio in Lagos, the Nigerian-born artist, music producer, and founder of 4EB Records is pushing a message deeper than chart numbers. He’s not chasing vibes. He’s chasing purpose.
His journey started before birth
Born in Delta State and raised in Port Harcourt, 4OR believes his music journey was spiritual from the start. “My auntie had a vision of me doing music while my mum was pregnant,” he says.
That vision became reality in 2024 when he stepped into music professionally, even though he had been producing since his early teens.
The breakthrough moment
In March 2025, 4OR dropped Poverty Must Die featuring Wizard Chan. The song connected across borders and opened doors. “A lot of things came into alignment because of that song,” he says.
But for 4OR, it wasn’t just a hit. It was confirmation.
Spirit over showbiz
Ask 4OR about his creative process and you’ll quickly realise he doesn’t operate like most artists. “Most of my songs come from dreams or audible direction from God,” he says.
Because of that, he prefers working alone in the studio. The vibe isn’t the goal. The message is.
He says he doesn’t sugarcoat anything. “Even when it scares me, I speak the truth. That’s where freedom starts.”
Fela energy meets global sounds
While rooted in afrobeat, 4OR loves blending other genres like rock, hip hop, ballet, and jazz. He takes inspiration from everywhere, refusing to box himself in. “I have a wide palette. I listen to A-list afrobeats and even D-list EDM. It all shapes my sound.”
The man behind the music
Despite his edgy appearance, 4OR says his heart is grounded in faith. “I might look like a devil worshipper, but I take pride in my obedience to God.”
His music isn’t religious in the typical sense, but it’s driven by spiritual conviction. Every track, every lyric, is intentional.
What’s next for 4EB Records?
Though he’s produced for artists across Ghana, Nigeria, America, and Canada, 4OR hasn’t signed anyone yet. But that’s about to change. “When I’m ready, you’ll know,” he says confidently.
His debut album Secret Society is coming this November or December. Before then, expect two singles: Power in September, and Old Soldier in October, which touches on the Lekki Toll Gate massacre of 2020.
Looking forward, standing firm
4OR wants to build a stage where artists and fans are unafraid to speak truth. Through 4EB Records, he hopes to raise talents who are original, raw, and real.
To upcoming artists, he says: “Be patient. Let God build you so you don’t fall along the way. Not making it yet is sometimes the biggest blessing.”
He adds, “A shift has come. What was prophesied is already unfolding.”
