Actress Yvonne Nelson has announced her plan to hold a vigil in protest of the unpredictable power outages throughout the nation in a letter to Inspector General of Police George Akuffo Dampare.
The actress writes in the letter that the purpose of the May 25 vigil is to emphasise how important it is for the administration to work towards ensuring stable power in the nation.
The vigil is scheduled to begin at the Revolution grounds at 8:00 am and end at midnight, according to the schedule.
Ghanaians are planning a watch over the inconsistent power supply for the second time.
Yvonne Nelson and a few of her colleagues staged a protest in the streets of Accra in 2015 to emphasise the government’s obligation to maintain the lights on following four years of struggling with an unstable power supply.
