Princess Kate Middleton Announces Cancer in Remission After Completing Treatment

Princess Kate Middleton has shared the joyful news that her cancer is now in remission, offering heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Royal Marsden Hospital who supported her throughout her treatment journey.

In an emotional visit to the London hospital, Kate marked a significant step in her personal recovery, just four months after completing chemotherapy.

She took to social media to express her relief and appreciation for the exceptional care she received, signing the message “C.”

“I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year.

My heartfelt thanks go to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything,” she shared.

Kate also highlighted the “exceptional care and advice” provided by her medical team, emphasizing that both she and Prince William “couldn’t have asked for more.”

During her visit, she met with staff and patients, including chemotherapy patient Katherine Field, with whom she shared her treatment experience.

The Princess light-heartedly joked about the port mechanism used for drug delivery, bonding over the shared experience.

Kate also comforted Tina Adumou, whose 19-year-old daughter is in intensive care, offering reassuring words: “There is light at the end of the tunnel. You are in the best of hands.”

The visit was a special occasion, as it coincided with the announcement that Kate would become the joint royal patron of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust alongside Prince William.

In this new role, she aims to support cancer research, promote clinical excellence, and advocate for patients and families.

Reflecting on her recovery, Kate said: “It is a relief to now be in remission, and I remain focused on recovery.

As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am, however, looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead.”

Kate first revealed her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, after months of speculation about her health.

She completed her treatment in September 2024, sharing a personal video message with the public and offering encouragement to others battling cancer: “To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand.”
