The protester, whose identity remains undisclosed, was seen holding a flag emblazoned with the words “Gaza” and “Sudan” during Lamar’s high-energy performance in front of millions of viewers.

The protester was standing on top of the GNX car used by Lamar as part of his set when he unveiled the flag. Security swiftly intervened, chasing the protester off the stage.

Footage from the event shows the individual evading security for about 45 seconds, weaving through dancers holding large standards, before being caught and escorted off the field by multiple guards.

The NFL has made it clear that this act was not part of the planned performance, as confirmed by Roc Nation, the production company behind the halftime show.

This controversial protest comes at a time of heightened tensions regarding the situation in Gaza, following comments from former President Donald Trump regarding US intervention in the region.

While the act of protest gained attention, it was clear that it was neither part of the planned show nor endorsed by Lamar or the production team.
