Grimes is asking for privacy after her son, X Æ A-Xii, made an unexpected public appearance with his father, Elon Musk, in the Oval Office on February 11.
The singer and artist expressed her frustration with the increasing public attention on her children, especially after X was photographed during his father’s meeting with President Donald Trump.
In a recent interview with Time, Grimes shared her concerns, stating, “Fame is something you should consent to.”
She clarified that she didn’t know her son would be part of the high-profile event and expressed her wishes to keep her children out of the spotlight.
“I would really like people to stop posting images of my kid everywhere,” she added. Grimes emphasized that while she understands the nature of public life, she hopes to preserve her children’s privacy as much as possible.
The incident in question occurred when President Trump signed an executive order regarding DOGE, a cryptocurrency.

During the event, X Æ A-Xii was photographed making faces and interacting with his father, which caught the attention of the public and the media.
Grimes responded to social media users, explaining that she hadn’t been aware of her son’s public appearance.
She also thanked a follower for pointing out her son’s polite behavior during the event but reiterated her desire for privacy, writing, “He should not be in public like this.”
Since her split from Musk in 2021, Grimes has been vocal about her preference for privacy, especially regarding her children.
In recent months, she has distanced herself from Musk on social media, particularly after controversial actions involving her ex. She continues to advocate for kindness and privacy in the face of public scrutiny.
