Tensions between India and Pakistan are boiling over again, with Pakistan claiming it has strong intelligence that India plans to launch a military strike within the next 36 hours.
The warning came from Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar in a late-night post on social media.
While he didn’t reveal the evidence, he said the threat was serious enough to make it public. His statement follows last week’s deadly attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir, where 26 tourists were killed by militants — an attack India blames on Pakistan.
Islamabad strongly denies involvement and has called for a neutral investigation.
The two nuclear-armed neighbors have fought three wars — most of them over Kashmir, a region both countries claim fully but control in parts.
The area remains one of the world’s most dangerous flashpoints.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is under pressure to act tough after the Kashmir massacre. His fiery statement last week, vowing to hunt the attackers “to the ends of the earth,” has only added to the growing fears of retaliation.

India has not officially responded to Pakistan’s latest warning, but military activities on both sides have intensified.
Pakistan says it shot down an Indian spy drone on Tuesday. Meanwhile, India’s navy recently tested long-range missiles to showcase its readiness.
The U.S. and China — both key players in the region — are urging calm. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is reportedly in talks with leaders from both nations, while China has warned that conflict would damage regional security.
In a sign of escalating diplomatic fallout, both countries have canceled visas, told citizens to leave, and recalled diplomats. India has also paused a decades-old water treaty that’s vital for both countries.
As border clashes continue nightly and words grow sharper, fears of a military showdown are rising fast.
