Jim Jones Crowns Drake 'The Greatest Rapper Of All Time' Ahead Of Jay-Z

During his recent appearance on The RapCaviar Podcast, Jim Jones once again declared that Drake is the greatest rapper of all time.

When podcast host Brandon ‘Jinx’ Jenkins questioned Jones’ assertion, the Dipset rapper responded by saying, “I mean, why not? Drake is the only person that gets played on any place in this earth and they gonna know it in English.”

While Bootleg Kev argued that Drake should be recognized as one of the Top 5 best rappers of all time, Jones went further and claimed that Drake deserves to be considered a “top 2” rapper. According to Jones, Drake has broken every single statistic in the music industry, surpassing even the legendary Jay-Z in terms of his impact.

However, Jones also acknowledged that Jay-Z has done some things for hip-hop that will never be duplicated, and that he has put himself in rooms that people couldn’t even imagine. Yet, Jones believes that Jay’s business achievements outweigh his musical accomplishments.

Jones stated that he hasn’t heard much of Jay-Z’s music in the past six to seven years that resonated with the streets. In contrast, every song that Drake has released in the past 12 years has hit like 2Pac was hitting.

“I haven’t heard too much Jay-Z music in the last six to seven years that was really hitting out here in these streets on the lit side of things,” said Jones. “In the past 12 years everything that Drake has put out has hit like 2Pac was hitting. No matter if you like it. No matter if ns don’t like it cause he’s light-skinned, no matter if ns don’t like it cause he’s singing… No matter what ns like, he always seems to be in these ns’ playlists.”

Jones went on to say that he considers Jay and Drake to be in the same category as far as being the greatest of all time. He disagrees with the notion that rappers must give their opinions on social views to be considered the No. 1 rapper. Jones believes that Drake is like Bruce Wayne, as he has records for all sorts of vibes, and is his spirit animal.

Jones’ comments come a month after he crowned Drake the GOAT in an interview with Complex. He explained that Drake’s relevancy and consistency in producing hit after hit, record after record, is a big statement in itself. Jones compared Drake’s impact to that of the legendary Bruce Wayne, and he believes that Drake deserves credit where credit is due.

Overall, Jones’ bold statements on Drake’s status in the rap world are not without controversy, but it is clear that he is not afraid to voice his opinion on the matter.
