Tiwa Savage, an award-winning Nigerian singer, shared a story about how nerves almost ruined her performance at the historic coronation of King Charles III, the British monarch.
During a recent appearance on the Good Morning Britain TV show, Tiwa Savage admitted feeling nervous in the first few seconds of her performance at Windsor Castle. However, she quickly overcame her nerves and delivered a memorable show.
Reflecting on the experience, she said, “It was beautiful [to perform for the King]. It was such an amazing moment to represent the Commonwealth and to be on that stage.
“I was nervous, I will say the first few seconds. But as soon as I started singing, I said, ‘I have to just get swept away by the crowd’.”

Tiwa Savage, known as the “Queen of afrobeats,” became the first Nigerian artist to perform at a British royal event. She amazed the audience at the King Charles III’s coronation concert and Big Lunch in March.
On the show, Tiwa Savage also shared her positive impression of the British Queen Consort, Camilla, describing her as “very lovely.”
Before her historic performance at the coronation ceremony, Tiwa Savage had the opportunity to meet the Queen Consort, further adding to the significance of the occasion.
