21-year-old Diaz spent last season on loan with Milan and impressed as he went on to make 27 Serie A appearances, scoring four goals and helping the club to finish second thus qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.

Though highly rated since he was a teenager, the Spain U-21 international’s career only really started to take off once he joined the Rossoneri.

After starting his senior career in 2016 with Manchester City, he went on to make just five Premier League appearances for the club before leaving the Citizens in 2019 in order to link up with Madrid.

Diaz spent two seasons with Los Blancos but was again consigned to being a bit-part player as he went on to make just 21 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga giants, scoring two goals.

It is quite evident that the San Siro is where Diaz should be if he wants to take his career to the next level.

Meanwhile, Tomori who was a bit-part player at Chelsea also got regular playing time in Italy last season as he went on to make 17 Serie A appearances for Milan.

One player whom Milan may have to replace this summer is Hakan Calhanoglu who has been linked with a potential move to Manchester United.
