Al Hilal has presented an enticing offer of €140 million (£120.3 million) to Napoli in their pursuit of striker Victor Osimhen. The proposed wages for the Nigerian striker stand at approximately £1 million per week.

This summer, the Saudi Pro League club had a whopping €300 million (£259 million) bid accepted for Paris St-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, though the French star opted not to engage with them. Furthermore, Al Hilal made attempts to secure Lionel Messi’s services before he made the move to Inter Miami.

For Napoli to even entertain the idea of parting with Osimhen, they would expect a sum exceeding €150 million (£128.8 million).

This demand is understandable, considering the player’s remarkable achievements as he clinched the top spot on the Serie A goalscoring chart last season, contributing significantly to their league title triumph.

It’s worth noting that both Manchester United and Chelsea have maintained a longstanding interest in the 24-year-old striker.

Erik ten Hag’s top pick appears to be Atalanta’s Rasmus Hoijland, and the player seems to be on his way to Old Trafford in a substantial £72m agreement.

Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen has attracted interest from prominent clubs such as PSG and Bayern Munich.

Despite being a key player for the Serie A champions, Osimhen has not yet extended his contract with Napoli, as the club has been unable to meet the player’s demands.

Last month, Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, was questioned about the progress of negotiations for a new contract with Osimhen. He responded:

“We have a basic agreement on a two-year extension, but [we are] willing to consider an offer we could not refuse,” he said.

During the last season, Osimhen showcased his scoring prowess by netting an impressive 26 goals in 32 games, earning him the title of the top scorer in Italy.

Notably, his exceptional performance played a crucial role in leading Napoli to secure their first Scudetto in 33 years.

As the 2023 summer transfer window unfolds, several high-profile players have made notable moves to clubs in Saudi Arabia, enticed by lucrative offers.

The likes of Karim Benzema from Real Madrid, Ruben Neves from Wolves, Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio are among those who have made the transition.

Additionally, stars like Roberto Firmino and Saudio Mane have also embarked on their journeys to the Sadio Arabian clubs, with more anticipated to follow suit.
