Popular American actor Kalpen Suresh Modi, known professionally as Kal Penn has confirmed that he is gay and has been with his partner for 11 years now.
To those of who might not have any clue as to who he is, Kal has starred in movies like; “House, Designated Survivor, the Harold and Kumar film franchise” and also a former White House staff member in the Barack Obama administration.
Well speaking in a recent interview with People Magazine, the actor revealed he is gay and has been with his partner, Josh for over 11-year and are happily engaged.

Josh in his interview was promoting his upcoming book titled You Can’t Be Serious, which officially comes out on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
According to Penn, in his book, he tells the story about himself which includes his work and how he met with his lover, ‘Josh’ as he gave more details on the first day they met. It also talks about his parents on his upbringing.
“So that was the most important thing for me. I wanted my story to be authentic from my perspective and told in a way that makes you feel like you really get to know me.” he said.
While discussing his sexuality, unlike others, he said he discovered his own sexuality very late in life but added that there is no timeline on this stuff.
 “I discovered my own sexuality relatively late in life compared to many other people. There’s no timeline on this stuff. People figure their s— out at different times in their lives, so I’m glad I did when I did.” he said.
According to him, he has always been very public with anyone he interacts with regarding his relationship, and that he is very excited to share this with his reader but his partner, Josh, his parents, and also his brother are fairly quiet because they don’t love attention and shy away from the limelight.
“I’ve always been very public with everybody I’ve personally interacted with. Whether it’s somebody that I meet at a bar, if Josh and I are out or we’re talking to friends,” Penn says. “I’m really excited to share our relationship with readers. But Josh, my partner, my parents, and my brother, four people who I’m closest to in the family, are fairly quiet. They don’t love attention and shy away from the limelight.”
“I really hope that people enjoy the book. I hope it makes people laugh and smile,” he says. “Obviously I am engaged to a man and our families will be there for the wedding. The big disagreement now is whether it’s a huge wedding or a tiny wedding. I want the big ass Indian wedding. Josh, hates attention, [has said], ‘Or we could just do quick 20-minute thing with our families and that’s it.’ So we have to meet halfway in the middle.”
The actor and former Whitehouse staffer who is currently promoting his book which comes out on Tuesday, November 2, says they are planning for their wedding soon.
