Beninese singer-songwriter, actress, and activist, Angelique Kidjo keeps putting Africa on the map, as she just won herself another Grammys at the just ended 2022 Grammy Awards with her ‘Mother Nature’ album in the Best World Music Album category.
The 2022 edition of the annually held Grammys came off on Sunday, April 3, 2022, airing live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, hosted by Trevor Noah as its main host.
Out of two nominations, Angelique Kidjo managed to keep one of the awards and lost one as well, in the Best Global Music Performance category, she got nominated but lost to Brooklyn-based Pakistani vocalist, music composer, and producer, Arooj Aftab.
She took charge of the Best Global Music Album category, crowned the winner of it with her “Mother Nature” album. by beating the likes of Wizkid, Rocky Dawuni, Daniel Ho & Friends, Femi Kuti And Made Kuti.

Kidjo on stage receiving her 2022 Grammy gave shouts to the likes of Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, and all the artistes who featured on her album as well as thanking her management team and also her producers who worked on the project.

Angélique Kidjo’s Mother Nature Album
Mother Nature is Angélique’s first album of original music in 7 years, following 2019’s Grammy-winning Celia, and her 2018 radical reimagining of Talking Heads’ landmark LP Remain In Light, and is made up of 13 songs.
Mother Nature features Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi, Salif Keita, Burna Boy, Shungudzo, Zeynab, Lionel Loueke, Sampa The Great, Blue Lab Beats, Ghetto Boy, EARTHGANG, and -M-.
Producers that worked on the album include Kel P (Burna Boy), James Poyser of The Roots, Vtek, Rexxie, Synematik, Blue Lab Beats, -M-, Brad Thomas Ackley, David Donatien and Dany Synthé.
