In a statement issued on Saturday, February 1, the foreign ministers of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt made it clear that they would not support any efforts to resettle or expel Palestinians from Gaza.

Trump’s remarks, made earlier this week, suggested that the U.S. could help “clean out” the Gaza Strip by moving its population to other Middle Eastern countries, an idea he discussed in a conversation with the king of Jordan.

He described Gaza as “a real mess” and proposed relocating over a million Palestinians to help alleviate the situation.

However, the Arab foreign ministers firmly rejected this proposal, emphasizing their commitment to supporting a two-state solution in the Middle East.

They pledged to work with the U.S. on rebuilding Gaza but reaffirmed their stance that Palestinians must remain in their homeland.

They also condemned actions that threaten Palestinian rights, including settlement expansion, forced evictions, and land annexation.

The statement, made after a meeting in Cairo, further called for the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and rejected any attempts to partition the region.

It also highlighted the crucial role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and criticized Israel’s recent ban on the agency.

While Trump’s plan to relocate Palestinians has sparked outrage across the Arab world, the region remains focused on the ongoing reconstruction of Gaza and the fragile ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.
