Prior to the latter games on Saturday, Arsenal easily defeated Bournemouth to take a four-point lead in the Premier League standings.

The Gunners controlled the first forty-five minutes and scored from the penalty spot shortly before halftime.

Mark Travers, the custodian for Bournemouth, took down Kai Havertz, and Bukayo Saka skillfully slid the ball into the net from the spot.

Declan Rice won the ball on the edge of the box and set up Leandro Trossard, who curled the ball in from inside the area, to double Arsenal’s lead in the 70th minute. Rice then added a goal in extra time to increase the Gunners’ lead.

After Dominic Solanke pushed David Raya into a save and Justin Kluivert missed a chance, Bournemouth posed much more of a danger in the second half.

The Cherries believed they had equalised through Antoine Semenyo, but Solanke’s foul on David Raya during the build-up disqualified his strike.

Arsenal’s centre back Gabriel also had a late goal disallowed for offside after he struck the upper corner with a volley.

Arsenal’s victory puts them comfortably atop the table, but their four-point advantage might not stay for long because Manchester City, their main opponents, plays later today afternoon.

Arsenal and their supporters honoured 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin, a supporter who was slain in a sword attack on Tuesday, during the game.
