Atlanta City Council Declared Oct.20 As “Lil Nas X “Day”
“Lil Nas X Day” has been designated by the Atlanta City Council for October 20, 2021. Officials handed the award at The Gathering Spot on Wednesday night, where fans, friends, and Atlanta residents recognized the Grammy-winning rapper’s contributions to the art industry.
The plaque was handed to Lil Nas X at a special dinner at The Gathering Spot Atlanta on Wednesday night, October 20, by city councilman and mayoral candidate Antonio Brown, Atlanta’s first Black LQBTQ+ council member.
Lil Nas X is an Atlanta native who grew up in the city.
In a related development, the City of Atlanta has declared July 22 to be Kanye West Day, following the release of his 10th studio album, Donda, at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday night, July 22.
Thousands of fans attended the event, and countless more watched it live on Apple Music when Donda, the long-awaited album, was released.
