Barcelona sack Koeman as head coach

Barcelona has sacked lead trainer Ronald Koeman and his staff following a helpless run of results that sees the Spanish football goliaths endure their third misfortune in their last four association games.

“FC Barcelona have calmed Ronald Koeman of his obligations as first group mentor. The leader of the club, Joan Laporta, educated him regarding the choice after the loss against Rayo Vallecano,” read a concise assertion.

“Ronald Koeman will bid farewell to the crew on Thursday, at the Ciutat Esportiva. FC Barcelona wishes to express gratitude toward him for his support of the club and wants him to enjoy all that life has to offer in his expert profession,” it added

The 1-0 loss at Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday night, left Barcelona sitting 10th in La Liga on 15 focuses, six behind association pioneers Genuine Madrid. The misfortune followed a 2-1 home misfortune to Genuine at Camp Nou on Sunday. It was Koeman’s third El Clasico rout in succession.

“Today we lost the match not due to our demeanor, not in view of the manner in which we played in light of the fact that I don’t think there are different groups that had such countless possibilities against them, thusly the issue is that we didn’t score and I can’t utter a word else,” said a disappointed Koeman in a post-match meet on Wednesday.

Barca could soon have a replacement for Koeman as Goal can confirm that the club’s legendary former midfielder and current Al Sadd head coach Xavi has been offered the job.

Xavi has an exit clause with the Qatar side and it is understood that he wants to move to Barcelona, who are prepared to pay the fee needed to secure the 41-year-old. former captain Xavi Hernandez, who is currently in charge of Al Sadd in Qatar, is the front runner to take over.

Koeman saw his side struggle in his first season in charge but did manage to bring home one piece of silverware in the form of the Copa del Rey.
