Bauchi Man Arrested for Raping 12-Year-Old Girl in Unfinished Building

A 20-year-old man, Ibrahim Saudiq, has been arrested in Bauchi State for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl.

The crime reportedly occurred on December 27, 2024, in Misau Local Government Area, where the suspect lured the young victim to an unfinished building and assaulted her.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Bauchi Command arrested Saudiq on January 9, 2025, after the girl reported the incident.

NSCDC spokesman Saminu J. Yusuf confirmed the arrest, stating that Saudiq had forcefully assaulted the girl in a building that was still under construction.

“The suspect, Ibrahim Saudiq, a 20-year-old man from Misau, was arrested for having carnal knowledge of a 12-year-old girl named Aisha Muda in an uncompleted building,” Yusuf explained in the statement.

In addition to the rape case, the NSCDC also arrested several individuals for involvement in other crimes. On December 24, 2024, a group of vandals was arrested in Toro Local Government Area while attempting to steal parts of an old telecommunications tower.

Commandant Oloyede Nelson Oyerinde commended the NSCDC personnel for their swift action and urged the public to continue supporting the fight against crime by providing vital information to the authorities.

Saudiq is currently in custody and will face prosecution once investigations are completed.
