Black Sherif Sued by Former Manager

According to legal notice sighted online dated April 11, 2022, by Shadrach Agyei Owusu, the Chief Executive Officer of Waynes Chavis Consult for alleged breach of contract, he is sueing Ghanaian rapper, Black Sherif who is born with his legal name as Ghanaian musician Mohammed Ismail Sherif over breach in contract.

All this comes following reports that Black Sherif who recently signed a new deal with Empire did it without the knowledge of his investor, and this has brought about a lit of talks, back and forth disagreements.

Let’s take you back a bit

On Friday, April 8, 2022, Hip-Hop Ghanaian musician, Black Sherif and his new team wrote a letter to Shadrach to officially notice him of terminating the management contract/deal the young rapper had with him.

“We have our Client’s instructions to confirm our Client’s acceptance of the termination of the Agreement following discussions between you and our Client.

“Our Client is accordingly no longer bound by the Agreement” part of the termination letter indicated.

Shadrach who seem not satisfied with the letter of terminating of contract also filed a suit, a writ at the Accra High Court to stop Black Sheriff from performing at events and accessing funds from his musical works (streams etc).

Shadrach in his application of notice for Injunction is requesting for four types of reliefs.

He is requesting for “an order of injunction to restrain the Defendant/Respondent, his agents, assigns, workmen and associates from performing at events or entering into agreements to perform at events or otherwise exploit his music and image without recourse to the Plaintiff.”

And also “an order for the appointment of a receiver to receive any and all funds that may accrue to the Defendant/Respondent from the use and exploitation of his music and image.”

The court is expected to hear the case for the injunction on Monday, May 9, 2022.
