Wizkid has grown and expanded his wings as a global icon to me, looking at the deals he pulls and chart-topping songs grabbing nominations in high-rated award schemes.

Journalist, Joey Akan took to his Twitter page on Friday, April 8, 2022, he disclosed some deep-down secrets most of Wizkid’s followers don’t even know about.

According to him, the Grammy Award-winning Nigerian artiste back in the days before emerging as a superstar following his hard work due to the lack of funds (money) would normally be seen hanging around a Studio owned by Knighthouse, which at the time housed Mo Cheddah.

At that moment he often waited for hours who came to the studios, paid to record, and were not able to complete their paid time for their session to leave so he enters the studios to use their remaining time.

He said;

”When Wizkid didn’t have money to record, he hung around the studio at Knighthouse, waiting for people to pay for sessions and not use the entire slot.

When he could get lucky, he used it. That’s how he could get any time on the mic. That’s the foundation of his studio time,” 

In Other news, the serial Nigerian hitmaker, Wizkid born with his legal name ‘Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun’ together with his colleague, Temilade Openiyi better known as Tems after their recent Grammy awards nominations which they lost to Angelique Kidjo are back again to represent Nigerian in from of the world again with their 2022 Billboard Music Awards nominations.

The chart-topping song ‘Essence Remix” by Wizkid and Tems, featuring on it, Canadian singer and songwriter, Justin Beiber made it to the list of nominees in the Top R&B Song of the year category.

In the same categorie, Wizkid and tems will also be competing with Justin Bieber who also got a nominated for his ‘Peaches’ song, as well as the likes of Grammy award winners, Doja Cat, Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak), he Weeknd, and GIVĒON,
