The Accra Circuit Court has fined Artiste Manager, Bulldog, an amount of GH¢48,000 for threatening President Akufo-Addo over the Menzgold Saga.

It would be recalled that the Bulldog, born with his legal name Nana Asiamah Hanson, the former manager of Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, back Saturday, January 9, 2021, made some controversial comments on live tv, during UTV’s United Showbiz show, where he said that President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo will not finish his four-year tenure if he failed to pay Menzgold customers.

We’ll get our monies back else Nana Addo will run; he won’t finish his 4 years. I’m telling you. He won’t finish his 4 years,” Bulldog said.

Bulldog got sued for offensive conduct to the breach of the peace following his comment.

The artiste manager back then pleaded not guilty but in Tuesday, January 10th’s court hearing he was pronounced guilty at Accra Circuit Court presided over by Evelyn Asamoah said and has been fined an amount of GH¢48,000.

Although Bulldog said in his defense that his comment was not a threat to the President but rather intended to appeal to him in a quest for justice for aggrieved Menzgold customers, the judge thinks otherwise and stated that Bulldog’s statement clearly threatened president Nana Addo.

Bulldog will be spending 40 days in prison should he fail to pay the fine.
